    Regional Recognition

    The regional recognition relating to the origin certification is regulated by Reg. CE 1019/02 and it is issued to packaging companies of the European Union that decided to apply a traceability system for the extra-virgin and virgin olive oils, either loose or in bottle.

    The packaging companies deciding to enforce the regulation have to keep a record where every sale or purchase regarding extra-virgin olive oil (loose or bottled) has to be written.

    The objective is highlighting all movements relating to oil in order to be able to know where the oil comes from. Only companies implementing what is envisaged by the above mentioned regulation can write on their labels “Olives grown in Italy and pressed in Italy”.

    We are proud of the fact that all our extra-virgin olive oil deserves that label: from our record relating to the origin designation it is clear that our extra-virgin olive oils are made in the Basilicata region and, in particular, in our oil mill.

    Our oil mill was the first in the Basilicata region to obtain such recognition from the Regional Body, the identification code for the recognition is PZ/1.
